After the conclusion of 2024 NFL season, seven teams made changes at head coaching positions – six vacancies have now been filled and leaving New Orleans Saints as one team yet searching for new leadership. Kellen Moore from Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator position is among several potential candidates; any possible hiring could occur after Superbowl on February 9th.
The Search for the Saints’ Next Head Coach Continues
Kellen Moore has emerged as their preferred candidate during interviews by the Saints during their search for a new head coach, according to reports. Moore began coaching as quarterbacks coach before being promoted as offensive coordinator with Dallas Cowboys before transitioning over to Los Angeles Chargers and finally Philadelphia Eagles before leaving in 2024 for Goodell’s Eagles job.Throughout this journey he has shown flexibility with regards to offensive strategy by transitioning between passing-heavy approaches with Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, Saquon Barkley at Eagles etc.
Kellen Moore’s Competitors for the Position
Moore joins Mike Kafka and Anthony Weaver on the list of Saints head coaching finalists; these two notable careers spanning head coaching roles previously filled by Kafka (New York Giants offensive coordinator) and defensive coordination, respectively, add further suspense over who will eventually take charge. McCarthy withdrew himself due to time commitment issues; among the remaining candidates Moore stands out because of his impressive track record as an offensive strategist who can adapt quickly when given new tasks – qualities which makes him particularly appealing as an option with regard to Saints coaching duties.
