With two years left on his rookie deal and plenty of teams willing to take a risk on him as potential value, McCarthy may receive at least some sort of offer; although given recent struggles and decreased demand for underperforming first-round quarterbacks he may only fetch around a fifth round pick in return.
McCarthy may have shown signs of regression since joining Minnesota, so an opportunity awaits in another setting that might benefit his game and alter their fate. For the Vikings this decision must soon be made when reviewing both their roster and long-term strategies.
